Clean Streets L.A. Challenge Community Events
The West Los Angeles Sawtelle Neighborhood Council is excited to be participating in Mayor Eric Garcetti's Clean Streets L.A. initiative led by the City of L.A.'s Bureau of Sanitation in the Clean Streets L.A. Challenge! Our Clean Streets L.A. plan focuses on Education, Action, and Sustainability. Through four community information events, four community clean up events and the creation of a Green Team, the West LA.. Sawtelle Neighborhood Council aims to improve livability and cleanliness on L.A. streets. Listed below are events and activities occurring over the next month. Thank you to our partners Councilman Mike Bonin, the Los Angeles Conservation Corps-Clean & Green Program, Pikkup and Big Sunday. Support from local businesses includes Copy Depot & Printing, Bagelworks Cafe, Orchard Supply Hardware, Smart & Final-Bundy, Starbucks-Pontius, Coffee Bean-Olympic, Phantom Lithography, B Sweet Dessert Bar, Plan Check, F.K. Nursery, Primo's Donuts, and the West LA Farmers Market.
GREEN TEAM
Volunteers will man our Green Team of block and/or street captains who will help update the City's CleanStat program to assess cleanliness of our City streets during the Clean Streets Challenge. Then moving forward volunteers will help to educate neighbors about MyLA311 app, reporting illegal dumping, and helping to organize clean ups for their block/street.
FARMERS MARKET
We will be at the West L.A. Farmers Market for the next four Sundays handing out valuable information from the Public Works Department, Sanitation, Office of Beautification and the City of Los Angeles Stormwater Program on how we can keep our community clean!
COMMUNITY CLEAN UPS
