RecycLA Survey From Councilmember Mike Bonin

Mike sent the following letter to every business in Council District 11 on October 12, 2017 to ask for feedback about recent changes to the waste hauling service for businesses and apartment buildings in LA.

Dear Friends,

If you are having problems with the new trash service in Los Angeles, I want to hear from you. Can you take a few minutes to answer a survey about your experience with RecycLA?

Earlier this year, the Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation launched a new system for collecting waste, recycling and compost from business and apartment buildings. The RecycLA/Zero Waste LA program is an exclusive franchise system intended to increase recycling and move Los Angeles closer to achieving “zero waste."

Since the program started, I have heard significant complaints about the program from many business owners and landlords. Complaints include insufficient notice, service interruptions, surprising new fees and problems with billing.

I am determined to push the City to fix these problems, and I have created an online survey to help me quantify and detail the problem. The survey has 11 multiple choice questions and should take about five minutes to complete.

Please take the brief survey below.

Thank you very much for your participation and for all that you do to make neighborhoods on the Westside great places to live, work and enjoy. It is an honor to serve you and I greatly appreciate your partnership.

Regards,

MIKE BONIN
Councilmember, 11th District
