Board of the Los Angeles Animal Services Commissioners Meeting at West Los Angeles Animal Shelter Oct 24 Tuesday 7pm
Next Tuesday, October 24, the Board of the Los Angeles Animal Services Commissioners will hold its meeting in West Los Angeles. On behalf of Commissioners Olivia Garcia, Roger Wolfson, Alisa Finsten, Layne Dicker and myself, Larry Gross, we would like to extend an invitation to attend our meeting at 7:00 PM at the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter (2 Blocks West of the 405 Freeway), 11361 West Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90064.
We encourage community members to attend the meeting and make their concerns regarding animal issues in the City of Los Angeles known directly to officials of the Animal Services Department.
Prior to the meeting, at 6:15 pm, we will conduct a tour for the public of the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter facility.
The public will be able to make general comments on any subject matter that the Board has jurisdiction on during the public comment period.
The meeting agenda will include the following items: Recommendation to Partner with UCLA School of Law on Administrative Appeal Hearings and Removing of Breed Labels on Shelter Dogs.
The Department of Animal Services is making significant strides in ensuring the protection and safety of our animals. We are on pace to meet our “No Kill” goal by the end of the year. Euthanasia rates have dropped dramatically in the past two years. While we are making progress on many other fronts more is needed to increase adoptions and educate the public on why it is crucial to spay or neuter. We need your help and support on these issues.
