WLASNC 2017 Clean Streets LA Tree Adoption hosted by the L.A Conservation Corps at the Sunday, NOV 5, WLA Farmers Market

UPDATE:  87 trees were adopted!

The WLASNC 2017 Clean Streets LA Tree Adoption hosted by the L.A Conservation Corps at the SUN, NOV 5, WLA Farmers Market was a success!  100 trees were provided by City Plants.  87 trees were adopted--more than twice as many as last year!  Tree specimens offered included: Sweet Bay (bay leaves for cooking), fern pine, deodar cedar and African sumac. All were healthy specimens.  And, the lucky 'parents' were given complimentary bags of mulch and compost from L.A. Sanitation to nurture their newly adopted saplings.

Marketing Director Eli Weinberg, of rental truck business Pikkup, along with WLASNC Board Member Jay Ross, assisted with the adoptions.  Pikkup also provided complimentary delivery of the adopted trees and compost and mulch.

We even had a celebrity 'parent'--Fresh Off the Board Grandma Huang--Lucille Soong!

We hope to have another Tree Adoption in conjunction with the Stoner Park tree planting on SAT, DEC. 16. We will keep you posted.

BE SURE TO JOIN US FOR THE SAT, NOV 18, UNI HIGH CLEAN-UP, 8:00 am to 12 Noon.

Meet in the upper parking lot at Texas and Barrington. Wear comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, and sunscreen. We will provide the gloves and tools.  There will be refreshments.

We are aiming for 100+ volunteers! Please e-mail your RSVP to: RMKATO@WLANC.COM.
