Building connections between neighbors to better the community is the guiding mission of the West LA Community Coalition, which brought scores of neighbors together at Stoner Park this month for the second annual - Fall Sweets & Savory Treats - Neighborhood Potluck.  Neighbors brought their favorite dishes and deserts (and their kids) for an old-fashioned get together. The group has been working hard on community clean-ups and on efforts to beautify the West LA Civic Center. Mike was happy to stop by and spend some time with some civic-minded neighbors and leaders.

Mike enjoyed spending part of the Thanksgiving holiday at the annual Westside Thanksgiving Celebration outside his West LA district office. This is the 36th year that volunteers have been feeding, clothing and caring for neighbors at the annual event. In addition to a fantastic holiday dinner, the event also provides free haircuts, blankets, hygiene kits, medical, optical, and dental services, vaccinations, a resource fair, and a children's carnival. Thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who made this important community event possible!
