Mike was happy to recognize and congratulate the 2019 graduates of the Japanese Institute of Sawtelle in West LA.

On June 15, family and friends gathered at the institute to celebrate their loved ones who completed the institute's language school program, and Mike was glad to award each of the ten graduates a certificate of achievement.

Big thanks Miwa Takahashi and the Japanese Institute of Sawtelle for doing great work to preserve the culture and heritage of the Japanese-American community in Los Angeles.

City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services crews were hard at work this month, smoothing out the roads in Venice and West LA!

The crew resurfaced a series of West LA streets, including Federal Avenue, Colby Avenue, Corinth Avenue, Mississippi Avenue, and Butler Avenue (off of Olympic Boulevard), as well as a couple of important neighborhood roads in Venice, including Grandview Avenue, Oakwood Avenue, Sunset Avenue (across from the Venice Skills Center), and 7th Avenue in Venice.

Thanks to BSS crews for improving these frequently used streets and #GettingThingsDonefor our neighborhoods.

Neighbors were invited to enjoy a fun carnival in West Los Angeles this month, as the West LAPD Station hosted its annual community carnival. The carnival featured rides, games, food and a lot more, and offered families and friends a chance to enjoy the neighborhood and to meet the women and men who work to keep our neighborhoods safe. Mike was glad to join neighbors and West LA officers for this fun community event.
