Undecided on Measure S (also known as the Neighborhood Integrity Initiative)? We invite you, your board, and members to attend the Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance's (NCSA) first forum of 2017 to discuss this complex initiative that will be on the March 7th Los Angeles Municipal ballot.
Measure S was born out of frustration with out-of-scale development and loss of affordable housing in Los Angeles. Among other things, the measure would place a 2-year moratorium on development projects seeking an amendment to the General Plan, a practice known as spot-zoning. It would also create a public process to update the General Plan, and prohibit developers from conducting their own environmental impact reports (EIRs). Opponents of the measure say it is ill-conceived and will actually exacerbate the affordable housing crisis.
Featuring expert speakers on both sides of the issue, we will host a moderated dialogue, with plenty of time for Q&A, so you can be ready on voting day. This measure has important implications for the future of land use, affordable housing, and sustainability in Los Angeles. We hope you will be able to join us Sunday, February 26 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Fire Station 57 (West LA) located at 11505 W. Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, 90064. (Event flyer attached)
