LAPD Special Olympics Donation Letter and Form

The Los Angeles Police Department has been a partner with Special Olympics Southern California through the Law Enforcement Torch Run for over 30 years. Law Enforcement officers all over the world run with the Olympic torch to signify to start of the Special Olympic Games. This year the Los Angeles Police Department, West Los Angeles Division will be running with the torch on Thursday, June 8th. I am asking you to support our efforts by donating $500 to sponsor one local athlete for a year of sports training and competition.  – or - $1,000, $250 whatever you want to put there.

As you may know, Special Olympics Southern California is a nonprofit organization that offers a year-round program of sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities and closely related developmental disabilities. This would not be possible without the support and efforts of individuals such as you.

Training, with competition as the focal point, is what Special Olympics is really all about. Learning sports and social skills are a means of empowering athletes and enabling them to interact within the community at large.

Thank you for considering Special Olympics Southern California a charity of choice. Your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly at 30627@lapd.online.

Sincerely,

James Lavenson

Police Officer III
