Apply for the special People St Application Cycle!

LADOT's People St Program is excited to announce a special cycle for one project in every council district. The first step is submitting potential locations and brief project goals for initial review by January 31, 2019 online at peoplest.lacity.org/specialcycle or email your application peoplest@lacity.org. 

People St is a program of the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) that enables Angelenos to transform underused streets into active, vibrant, and accessible public spaces. 

For this cycle, LADOT has taken steps to make the process more accessible and afforable by providing application assistance, technical design support, and funding for materials and installation for one People St project in every council. 
 

Projects include:

• Intersection Murals (Pending Metro Approvals)

• Decorative Crosswalks (Pending Metro Approvals)

• Bike Corrals (Pending Metro Approval)

• Parklets*

• Plazas*

*Requires additional review process

All projects must be within a 1/2 mile of Metro Rapid and/or 1 mile of Metro Rail transit station areas. See project manuals for additional site criteria at peoplest.lacity.org/specialcycle.
