Sawtelle Japantown

After extensive community outreach and years of insufficient recognition, the Los Angeles City Council voted February 25  to officially designate the "Sawtelle Japantown" neighborhood!

The name pays deserved homage to the historic former City of Sawtelle that became part of Los Angeles in 1922, as well as the cultural Japanese roots of the area.

Thank you to all the hard working volunteers who led this great initiative!
